ZALMHAVEN: WOW-FEELING at heights
A highlight in the skyline of Rotterdam: Zalmhaven I. With 215 meters up in the sky this is the tallest residential tower in the Benelux. It was our honor to highlight the top with light of this iconic building. The cherry on top of the cake! The team defied fear of heights, fog and rain, but the result speaks for itself: 100% goose bumps! Also known as: WOW!
Finishing touch with light
To emphasize the highest point of the Zalmhaven, our designer Nick came up with a lighting solution that illuminates the top two floors of the building. An image that blends nicely with the skyline of Rotterdam. Because no less than 52 floors of the tower consist of high-end apartments, lighting the entire facade was not an option. Therefore, only the striking top of the tower was provided with a finishing touch of light.
From static white to colored dynamic
The challenge within the design? In addition to the limited space on the roof for lighting fixtures, the design also took into account the prevention of light pollution. Several fixtures from Color Kinetics were selected to bring the lighting design to life. By default, the light is in a static, white color, but for special occasions it can also be converted to dynamic colors through control: for just that little extra WOW!
